Enkidu mit Brot und Bier
Schamchat bekleidet Enkidu und will ihn nun nach Uruk führen. Unterwegs treffen
sie auf eine Gruppe von Menschen. Beide werden zu Tisch gebeten. Enkidu isst
erstmals Brot und trinkt Bier, Nahrung, die er als Jäger und Sammler nicht kannte.
Diese Szene ist gleichsam die Einführung Enkidus in die Zivilisation (II, 29-51).

Enkidu at dinner with bread and beer
Shamchat dresses Enkidu and she wants to lead him to Uruk now. On the way
they meet a group of people. Both are asked to eat with them. Enkidu eats first
bread and drinks beer, food that he didn't know as hunter and gatherer. This scene
serves as Enkidu's introduction to civilization.
