Series of Revelation to Saint John

Saint John before Domitian

In the second general persecution, in the year 95, Saint John was apprehended by the proconsul of Asia and sent to Rome,
where he was miraculously preserved from death when thrown into a cauldron of boiling oil.
The Caesar Domitian, having failed to execute Saint John, banished him to the isle of Patmos.
Rev 1,9: I John, ... was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.
