Gilgamesch träumt vom Löwenadler
In jeder Nacht sieht Gilgamesch vielfältige bedrohliche Scheinbilder des
Zedernwaldwächters Humbaba. Darunter ist im vierten Traum der Löwenadler.
Löwe und Adler sind die mächtigsten Tiere der Erde und der Luft und
symbolisieren die Stärke Humbabas (IV, 141-162).

Gilgamesh dream of the lion-eagle
Every night Gilgamesh is seeing a variety of threatening simulacra of
the cedar forest guardian, Humbaba. Among them is the fourth dream
of the lion-eagle. Lion and eagle are the most powerful animals on earth
and in the air and symbolize the strength of Humbaba
